The Occupied Lens is a show of photographs of Occupy Wall Street. Images include the birthplace of the worldwide movement at its Zuccotti Park encampment in the fall of 2011 as well as Occupy-related marches, demonstrations, protests, and events that occurred through the winter and spring of 2012, including May Day.

Quiet moments of solitude and solidarity are exhibited alongside chaotic scenes and violent arrests of protestors–equal aspects to this divisive and historical movement.

Ellen Moynihan is an independent photojournalist and a resident of 11206. She has had her work published in New York magazine, The New York Times, The Villager, and Gothamist.
