After 16-year-old Kimani Gray was shot and killed by police on Saturday, March 9 in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, a series of vigils and protests began to take place in the neighborhood every night beginning the following Monday. The activities ranged from peaceful visits to a shrine of candles and photos of Kimani, to vociferous marches on the 67th precinct and a surge by protestors into a local pharmacy resulting in assaults on a customer and manager.
